Jenkins to Speak and Perform at 2010 Sojourner Truth Lecture

Mason professor Toby Jenkins will speak and perform at the 2010 Sojourner Truth Lecture entitled “Recipes of Resistance” on March 23 at 1:30 p.m. in Research 1, Room 163.

Jenkins is an educator, activist, and artist, is a professor in the Higher Education program, and New Century College, at Mason. She has created many community-based cultural education programs on social action through art, prison poetry, cultural heritage, and social justice. Also, she has completed community-based cultural work in Senegal, South Africa, Trinidad, Jamaica, and parts of Europe.

This event is co-sponsored by African and African American Studies, Women and Gender Studies, and New Century College.
