This interdisciplinary course is designed to explore images of South Asia, looking at its history and cultures as they were projected, perceived, and interpreted in Bollywood and other regional movies. Critical social issues, such as colonialism, nationalism, South Asian Diaspora, and communalism will also be examined and debated throughout the course.
