Tuesday, March 4, 2014 1:30 PM EST
Buchanan Hall, Meese Room
The 2014 Sojourner Truth Lecture bridges the transition from Black Heritage Month into Women's History Month by featuring Crystal Leigh Endsley, Ph.D., who will present "Everything I Never Had."
Endsley, Visiting Professor of African Studies at Hamilton College, is a spoken word artist, activist, and actor, performing and presenting workshops and lectures both in the United States and abroad. Her performances and current research focus on issues of performance and identity and the ways they intersect with feminist pedagogy, race, and popular culture.
The lecture will be held on Tuesday, March 4 from 1:30PM to 3:00PM in the Meese Room of Mason Hall. Following a post-lecture reception, Endsley will lead a poetry workshop. Those interested in attending the poetry workshop should contact Tashia Harris (lharris21@gmu.edu) ahead of time.
Sponsored by African and African American Studies and Women and Gender Studies programs, George Mason University.
